How did you feel during the navigation? Influence of emotions on browsing time and interaction frequency in immersive virtual environments

چکیده
Immersive virtual environments (IVEs) represent settings that simulate the physical world. Users interacting in such venues commonly display behaviours like ones would occur However, little is known about how affective states experienced while browsing IVEs may turn, influence user’s interactive behaviour. The present research investigates affect terms of arousal and valence generated by influences time interaction frequency. Three studies analyse various facets IVEs. Study 1 cognitive responses shows positively affected self-reported arousal. 2 analyses neurophysiological demonstrates consistent results with 1. It further physiological correlates 3 delves into personal interest, a recurring factor emerged two previous studies, its Findings show high IVE, highly interested users are more likely to browse longer than low-interested users. Overall, behavioural realism evoked involves both users’ actions states. Implications design guidelines foster positive drawn.

Body Centred Interaction in Immersive Virtual Environments
The technology to immerse people in computer generated worlds was proposed by Sutherland in 1965, and realised in 1968 with a head-mounted display that could present a user with a stereoscopic 3-dimensional view slaved to a sensing device tracking the user's head movements (Sutherland 1965; 1968). The views presented at that time were simple wire frame models. The advance of computer graphics k...

Defining interaction within immersive virtual environments
This thesis is concerned with the design of Virtual Environments (VEs) in particular with the tools and techniques used to describe interesting and useful environments. This concern is not only with respect to the appearance of objects in the VE but also with their behaviours and their reactions to actions of the participants. The main research hypothesis is that there are several advantages to...
